The purpose of the project is the establishment and development of the ZIM innovation network “MED-IG-4.0 – Intelligent Devices for Medical Technology”.
First approaches regarding the technology and development fields are new, innovative or improved, intelligent medical products made of plastic, which are applied in hospitals, medical practices but also for personal use by patients.
In medicine, various plastics are used to develop almost all devices, accessories, sensors etc., all of which have been adapted to their intended use – one of the outstanding properties of plastics.
Thermoplastics are used particularly frequently due to their versatility and good processing possibilities. They do not kink and have insulating properties – making them ideal for resealable infusion bags or kink-free ventilation tubing, for example.
The aim of the ZIM innovation network MED-IG-4.0 is to analyze the demand for intelligent products and systems made of plastics, or with plastics involvement, and to identify implementation paths in the form of new product developments or product improvements.
