Material databases – Because knowledge
is the better raw material
Testing Compare materials, make informed decisions
In addition to testing services, we also offer plastics databases for various analysis methods. Depending on the method, the databases contain analysis data for more than 1,000 commonly used plastics, including biomaterials and materials for 3D printing. These databases are available exclusively through our cooperation partners.
- Further information on the FTIR and Raman spectroscopy database can be found at Bruker Optics
- Further information on the DSC database can be found at Netzsch Gerätebau
Bruker – Future-proof analytics
for modern materials
High-resolution spectroscopy meets applied plastics research: Together with Bruker, the Plastics Institute is bringing precise analytics to everyday materials evaluation. The company is one of the world’s leading providers of FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, and its technology enables fast, non-destructive materials analysis directly in the laboratory environment.
In cooperation with KIMW, an application-oriented solution package has been developed that takes the identification, characterization, and evaluation of plastics to a new level.
Netzsch - Thermal Analysis
meets data intelligence
Digital thermal analysis: Together with NETZSCH, the Plastics Institute has developed a software extension that intelligently combines a materials database with thermal analysis. NETZSCH is an international leader in precision analysis instruments for thermal analysis and provides important data for material selection and evaluation.
The extension makes it possible to use thermal parameters directly in the KIMW database—practical, efficient, and tailored to the requirements of plastics processing.
