Founder and main actor of our institute is the association Traegergesellschaft Kunststoff-Institut e. V.
It was founded in 1988 by companies from the South Westphalia region. This association also represents the cluster with its current membership of over 400.
In the cluster, companies and research institutions from different industries work on joint research and development projects (collaborative projects) and organize educational opportunities for members.
By bundling the competencies of different companies and institutions along the technological value chain, you increase your competitiveness and benefit from an increase in growth and employment.
The cluster is a well-functioning, steadily growing network focused on sustainability and supported exclusively by industry funding.
