Decision rule

for assessing the conformity of test results

the cases

The decision rule explains the basis on which all companies of the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid make statements regarding conformity with specified requirements.
(in accordance with ISO 17025:2017-11 Section 7.8.6)

If there are no standard specifications or customer requirements to the contrary, we will apply the following decision rule when assessing conformity:

  • Case I (OK)
If all individual values are within the specified limits, the test is considered passed.
  • Case II (OK with reservations)
If one or more measured values are outside the limits but the average value is within the limits, the test is considered conditionally passed.
  • Case III (not OK)
If the mean value of all measured individual values is outside the specified limits, the test is considered not passed.
Of course, other decision rules can also be applied if the client so desires and informs us in advance.
Customer-specific deviations from the KIMW decision rule will be noted in the respective test report.
