The demands placed on companies are constantly increasing. In many industries—including plastics processing companies—major players set the framework conditions, while international competition increases the pressure on companies. We also serve as a point of contact and coordinator for other plastics technology networks, representing their respective interests at trade fairs and events and providing support in their day-to-day business. In addition, we work closely with various clusters and international networks.
The main objective of the VDWF is to strengthen the German tool and mold making industry. Since the association was founded in 1992, it has actively supported mainly small and medium-sized companies and strengthened them for joint future tasks. To this end, the VDWF bundles and represents the interests of its member companies. As the North-West branch, we help the VDWF to implement its strategies. We act as a branch office.
The aim of the FDWF is to support companies in the industry and to secure the innovative strength and international competitiveness of the tool, mold, and die manufacturing sector through pre-competitive research and development. The goal is to close the gap with foreign competitors, which include large companies with several thousand employees. We act as a branch office.
In the Interessengemeinschaft Kunststoff e.V. (IGK), 52 companies from the plastics industry in the Cologne-Bonn-Rhein-Sieg region work closely together. This cooperation and mutual support create synergies that give member companies a decisive advantage in a competitive market. We act as a branch office.
As a forum for cooperation and knowledge transfer in the photonics industry, Optence e.V. has been facilitating contacts between optics companies and research institutions for over 20 years. As the Optical Technologies Innovation Network, it contributes to generating and accelerating innovation through numerous activities. Our more than 100 members benefit from personal contacts, information, training, and consulting. The members of Optence represent the entire value chain of optical technologies.
